The distinction between carnality and spirituality is as light and darkness and like oil and water, the two cannot blend. Some of these distinctions are as follows:
1. Satan is the lord over carnality or the human nature. So anyone who bows to carnality bows to Satan. On the other hand, Jesus Christ is the Lord over spirituality. [See Ephesians 2:2-3; Col.1:13].
2. The Carnal man is controlled by the law of sin and death. The spiritual man on the other hand, is controlled by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. [See Rm.7:21-25; Rm.8:1].
3. The carnal man is under condemnation. There is no condemnation against the spiritual man. [Rm.8:1; Jn.3:18-18].
4. The carnal man cannot obey God and cannot please God. The spiritual man on the other hand, is one with God and therefore pleases the Lord. [Rm.8:7-9; Gal.5:17; 1Cor.6:17].
5. The carnal man cannot receive and experience the things of the Spirit of God. On the other hand, it takes spirituality to access the things of the Spirit of God. [1Cor.2:13- 14; Rev.4:1]
