Enter into His
gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: Be thankful unto Him,
and bless His name. Ps.100:4
This evening during our
Bible study, I raised a few questions regarding God’s benevolence which some
people tend to take for granted because of how easy and freely God has made
them available to us. I asked the Church how many of them had ever had to pay
to breathe since the day they were born and no one had ever had to buy oxygen.
As I kept poking them with
more of these kind of questions, they all admitted that God had been indeed
faithful. I believe God gave us this word for the month more because of His
interest in enhancing the quality of our lives than just in us coming with
gratitude and praise to Him.
As I look through this
year in retrospect however, I cannot but observe how faithful the Lord has been
to us in blessing and keeping us. So many storms raged against us this month
yet the Lord in His faithfulness blessed us with victory and enabled us to move
on with life lessons for our encouragements and improvements.
When I look around at the
economic hardship in our country and how God has shielded us from its harsh
effects, we can only burst out with exceeding great joy as we meditate on the
faithfulness of God and How He has helped us to do even better than we have
been.
To top it all, the Lord
gave us a revelation of His love and how to walk in it and now we have a brand new
Church of hearts willing and ready to serve divine purpose through His love. It
has indeed been great doing the word of God in walking in love. As we enter
into the last but one month of the year, I believe as we tidy up our
preparation for next year, the time is ripe to really understand thanksgiving,
praise and worship. As a matter of fact, this is a major key of the kingdom as
it has the multiple effects of unlocking our access into God’s court and
eventually His presence. When we access His presence we tend to enjoy fullness
of His joy and at His right hand, we enjoy His pleasures forever. Many
occasions when we hear worship leaders come to lead praise and worship, one
gets disappointed when we do not see the flow from thanksgiving to praise and
then to worship. You cannot just come from the streets into worship without
first wetting the ground with thanksgiving and praise before progressing into
worship. In light of this misunderstanding, we shall be looking at a theme I
title: understanding the Mystery of
thanksgiving, Praise and Worship. It is my heart felt prayer that by the time
the month of November is rounding off we would all be able to tell the
difference between these great keys of the kingdom and be able to engage them
to our benefits and the glory of God.
Meanwhile someone may be
reading this blog today and is yet to make Jesus Christ the Lord of their
lives. The first key of the Kingdom of God is actually repentance. The proof of
repentance is the persuasion of a person to the salvation of their soul through
the New Birth experience. If you are that person and desire this great
blessing, you may say the following prayer out loud by faith and you will
become born again. If you choose to, you can say the following prayer out loud
in faith and you will be immediately be born again by the activity of the Holy
Spirit:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a
sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the
dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour
and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus
Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name! Amen.
