Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. Acts 3:19-21
When the Lord gave me the word for this month, I got thinking about the direction He would have us go at this time knowing this was the same word the Lord gave me last year for the month of February and that commenced a period of rededicating our lives to Him and what I will choose here to call a reawakening to God to return to our first love.
Last year was tough; we had to start all over to reexamine our lives based on God’s word and beginning with me, we had a lot of adjustments to make in correcting ourselves. Most of us wanted to get it right with God and God is so faithful and patient that He helped us walk through it. While we may not be there yet, our faith has revived a great deal and the Lord has graciously helped us to become clearer about His task for us as a Ministry and the role He has raised us to play in these end times. In addition, He has helped us to see His heart more and more and to know the importance of doing His word without compromise.
This month, we can see from our text scripture above that times of refreshing from the effects of heat come to us from God’s presence. However, before we can enjoy refreshing from the effects of heart, we have to first repent of whatever may hinder our relationship with God. This is why Luke tells us here that we are to first repent and be converted. This was what we invested the entire last year from February doing. As a matter of fact, this decision was so serious that it left many casualties like those in John 6:65-71 who turned back from following the Lord claiming that His teaching was too hard and that none could bear it.
Interestingly, at this point, the Lord was telling them about becoming really intimate with him. He just handed down to them the mystery that would enable them to abide in Him. Abiding in Him is the only way we can make it with God until the end especially as His return is so imminent. See Jn.15:1-5 and 6:54-58
Sadly, there is a lot of delusion in the world today brought about by the deceit of our archenemy the devil and the disobedience of men. God has promised to send strong delusion to those who would not repent and live by His word. [Rm.1:18-32 and 2Thess.2:7-12]. A look around us today, points to the reality of this. To this end, it behooves us to get closer to God, receive His anointing and arise and warn as many as possible of the impeding judgment that has been long delayed to get as many as should be saved ready for the Lord’s soon return.
Clearly, God wants us to be restored to loving Him above all and our neighbors as ourselves. He wants us to attend to discipleship so that more people can learn to know Him for themselves and also help others to do the same. Thirdly, He wants us to be agents in His hand to deliver the oppressed with His word and the power of the Holy Spirit. As we attend to this, we would do well and get as many as possible ready for the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
How are we going to do this knowing that this is a feat that is humanly unattainable? It would be with the help of the Holy Spirit. This is why He tells us in the book of Jn.14:18 and 16:7-13 respectively; that He would not leave us comfortless but that He would send the Holy Spirit who would be with us forever. As we approach him in spirit and in truth this month with a true desire for Him, we will receive more outpouring of His Spirit so that we can do and be all He wants.
To this end, this month, we shall be learning about: Being led by the Holy Spirit. From our text scripture and Acts 2:38, it is very clear that for us to really experience the Holy Spirit, true repentance from the heart is a prerequisite. When we lay down our lives before the Lord in submission and embrace the way of the Cross, then we are ready to be led by the Holy Spirit.
Further when the Holy Spirit leads you, He will never lead you astray as He would only lead you to walk in the ways of God where there is no confusion. In addition, we are changed daily to become more and more like the Lord Jesus Christ and true imitators of God as His dear children. [See Ps.103:7; 2Cor.3:17-18 and Eph.5:1-2] I believe that in the light of the deceit and fear unleashed on earth by the enemy of our souls, this truth is needed now more than ever. Only the Holy Spirit and the word of God can protect our hearts from the deceit of the times we are in.
Someone is reading this blog right now that has become very confused by the way things are on earth right now because of their present seeming endless problems. You have gone everywhere you thought you could get help without success. Now hear the word of the Lord. In no other name is there salvation; only the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who obtained victory for us on the Cross of Calvary can you get real help. You can make His acquaintance right away by saying the following prayer out loud in faith and you will be saved:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name! Amen.
