“Rejoice
in the Lord, o ye righteous: for praise is comely to the upright” … Ps.33:1
“Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing
praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.” Ps.147:1
Divine favour greetings family;
welcome to October our month of praise. As the year hastens to the end, one is
left in wonder of how fast the year has run as though time is in a hurry to
quit existing. The period of gestation is nine months at the end of which time,
a baby is welcomed into the world. It is undeniable that God has been doing a
great work of birthing some new life in us for this period of nine months that
the year has ran swiftly. As I sought the Lord on what to write for this month,
He gave me the scripture about praise being comely for the upright.
As we look back on this year,
there are so many things God has done for us as individuals, families and a
ministry that we must not only be thankful for; we need to praise God for. This
scripture in essence means that praise looks good on us. I believe in this
month of Praise, God is set to beautify our lives as we lift up praise to Him.
We cannot pay Him for all He has done for; and been to us. We can only express
our appreciation by lifting up praise to him. I am grateful that the idea to
praise him is His. Thus every time we spend praising the Lord this month, we
can see ourselves in obedience because that is His desire for our lives. In
addition, we would be manifesting this thought that praise looks good on us. Do
not forget that last month, as the dew of heaven brought the blessing, the
earth responded with the delivery of God’s blessing on our lives. For that and
every other blessing of the year, we are to return gratitude to God and release
ourselves to praise Him. In all our services this, month, we shall be
dedicating some time to praising the Lord because He has been so good to us. In
addition, in our studies, we shall be learning about praising God and why it is
important to God for us to praise Him.
In Ps.67:5-6, we learn that when
the earth praises the Lord, God will cause her to yield her increase. I believe
that as we separate ourselves to praising God this month, it would reflect in
the increase of all that touches and concerns us. It would show in the work of
our hands and the increase of the fruit of our labours.
Therefore, complaining should be
put far from us this month. Instead, we should cultivate a thanksgiving and praise
habit. Our prayer sessions should be laden with praise for all of the wonders
of God in our lives and families. God has done more good than the devil has
done us evil. The enemy brought sickness but God healed us. The enemy brought
problems, but God gave us solutions. Through all our tests and trials, we have
come out as better people because what the enemy thought for evil, God has
turned around for our good. Indeed, praise is comely on the upright.
Someone reading this blog may be
thinking; they are not upright, can they also praise? My answer to you is; you
are the one God is looking for to praise him because He came to seek and to
save you. As soon as you take advantage of His offer of salvation, you can
immediately start praising Him and the beauty of your life will begin to speak
as well. If you are that person, you can start right away by saying the
following prayer out loud in faith and you will become His righteousness in
Christ Jesus:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you
raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus
Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan
plus his unfruitful works of darkness and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour
and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name! Amen.
