God’s Principles of Success
Topic: What to do to Succeed
Introduction: Last week, we began to look at
what to be to succeed. We established last week that it is who you are that
would determine what you will do. Today therefore, we shall continue to look at
what to do to succeed. While we are at this, let us first understand that the
effectiveness of what you do is tied to the state of your heart. As we
understand already, no one can rise above the content of their character and
character is who you are when no man is watching you. It is your behavior in
adversity. Character is what would determine your decisions in adversity.
In
light of the foregoing, what then can one do to succeed God’s way?
Steps
to take to success God’s way:
1.
The new
birth experience: In Genesis 3, we see the account
of the loss of the Garden of Eden by man through rebellion to God’s word. God
had told man in the previous Chapter that he should not eat of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil and also told him the consequence of his
disobedience if he did. He told man that his disobedience would result in his
death. Man did not realize the magnitude of this consequence and he went ahead
to eat. From there death not only stopped with the first man but was
transferred down his generations. Man thus lost his place with God being cut
off from the life of God and became a child of the devil. The result is the
wickedness we see in the world today. Thankfully, God unfolded and fulfilled
his redemptive plan for man in Christ Jesus. As many as embrace the Lord Jesus
Christ by faith, pass from death to life because they are born of God again.

2.
Embrace
the word by reading, meditating on and doing it: The reason we are taught to
embrace the word of God in the Old and New Testaments of the bible is that it
would enable us to have the mindset that would guarantee that we succeed God’s
way. People are the way they are because of how they think. See Prov.23:7;
1Tim.4:13-16 and Jos.1:8. This is the way it works. You read the word to get
divine information. Then you meditate on it so that your heart can study it
until understanding is hatched in your heart to bring you to a place where you
are enlightened. What happens here is that the word actually enters into you.
When the word enters into you, it brings light which dispels the darkness of
ignorance and causes you to be empowered enough to exercise dominion over all
the forces of darkness and to always prevail in life’s situations. When this happens, you could really be described
as operating in outstanding success. You will be able to correctly run in the
course of destiny that God has charted for you and to finish your course with
joy. See Ps.119:105 and 130; Jn.1:1-5 and Ps.82:5-7. Anyone who has meditated
on the word of God enough to gain understanding would definitely do the word of
God. It is only in the doing of the word of God that the blessings of success
become evident to the doer and all others beholding him or her. See Jas.1:21-25
and 1Tim.4:15.
3.
Locate
your divine purpose: The purpose of a thing vests with the manufacturer
of that thing. As far as we are concerned, God is our manufacturer. Therefore
our purpose is known only to him. The best person to disclose our purpose to us
is him. We are therefore required to seek that knowledge from him. If we follow
the required protocol to get that revelation from him, we would locate our
purpose because knowing our purpose is a function of our discovery from God. He
can cause you to receive the knowledge of your purpose by any of the following
means – divine revelation by God’s volition like the case of Jeremiah in
Jer.1:4-5 when the word of the Lord came to him. He can cause you to know by
placing the passion of His purpose within you like what He did with Nehemiah in
the bible. See Neh.2:1-5. He can cause you to know also by his response to your
inquiry from him to know. See the example of Apostle Paul in Acts 9:3-6. So we
can get to know our purpose from God by any of these means. God desires that we
discover and pursue His purpose for our lives more than any thing. See 3Jn.1:2.
4.
Run diligently
to fulfill your purpose: As soon as your purpose has been disclosed to you,
what is required of you is that you run diligently until it is fulfilled. To help you do this, you can measure your
progress with God by taking time out with Him so that on a consistent basis you
will be receiving from him and learning in him to grow spiritually so that your
can understand the different phases of your destiny and operate in them until
completion. In fact men and women of destiny always know when their time is up
at different phases of their lives and eventually get to know when to quit the
scene in time. See the examples of Apostles Peter and Paul in 2Pet.1:13-15 and
2Tim.4:6-7.
5.
Never
give up on your God given mission until you complete it: No matter how well you begin
to run in your God given purpose, you must understand that that tempo must be
maintained until the end. This is why the Lord told the Church in Revelation to
return to their first love because He would not tolerate lukewarmness from
them. As a matter of fact, He promises that he would spew out a lukewarm person
from His mouth. To keep yourself on fire, you have to always separate yourself
to God to reflect and learn from the Lord and keep in touch with heaven and do
what you ought to do per time to enable you fulfill your destiny. Many
occasions, you would be tempted to give up through adversity; don’t give up
always continue until you will arrive at your divine location. Remember, only
those who endure till the end shall receive the crown of life and be saved.
Your end is when God says your time on earth is up. See Mt.
Someone
may be reading this who has not yet taken the first step to succeed above and
you are wondering how you can take it because I know you will like to succeed.
Please do so right away by saying the following prayer out loud and faith and
you will be born into God’s family and receive the right to become a child of
God and have access to your purpose and power to run in it until the end.
Please say the following prayer out loud in faith and you will be born again:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a
sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the
dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour
and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus
Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name! Amen.
