Welcome To September Our Month of The Blessing

Gal.3:13-14
“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
The whole purport of the redemption package was to restore us back to the blessing. In Gen.1:26-28, we see God declaring His purpose statement for man. His intention was to make a new species of beings in His image and likeness so that they could be instrumental in running His affairs on earth. To enable man accomplish his purpose, God empowered Him with the blessing. Let us look at the text for a clearer picture of what I am trying to communicate:
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Gen.1:26-28
To enable man exercise influence on earth, God had to empower him with the blessing and the blessing is found in verse 28 where he authorized man to be productive, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it and exercise dominion. This is a total package that shows that our ability to subdue the earth and dominate it is made possible only by the blessing. The devil that has already lost his place in heaven and was embittered against God was further infuriated by God’s creation of man to occupy the place of dominion over the earth where he once had influence [see Rev.11:7-12; Isa.14:12-20 & Ez.28:11-19]. In keeping with his mission to steal, kill and destroy [Jn.10:10], he came into the garden subtly through the serpent and lured man into disobedience through his wife and temporarily succeeded in robbing man of the power conferred on him by the blessing [Gen.3].
God however was not perturbed; in the midst of executing judgment against the serpent, the woman and the man, He made a promise of redemption for man in Gen.3:15 where He said the seed of the woman shall bruise the head of the Serpent.
He almost immediately set about the process for bringing this to pass when He called Abraham and made him the custodian of the blessing to the entire human race. In Gen.12:3 God promised that in Abraham shall all the families of the earth be blessed. God fulfilled this promise through Jesus Christ when He took our place on the cross of Calvary and obtained eternal redemption for us. Apostle Paul clarified this truth in several of his letters to the Church most outstanding of which is found in Gal.3:16 where he said:
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”
It is evident from this text of scripture that the whole purport of the Abrahamic covenant was to make him a custodian of the blessing of the entire world by maintaining a bloodline through which the Messiah was to come into the world and this was fulfilled in Christ. This is why our text scripture tells us that the reason Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law is that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through faith so that we could receive the promise of the spirit. If you are Spirit filled, then you are an evidence of this truth. The law which came (long after the blessing to Abraham) to Moses was intended to ratify the demands for the blessings and the consequent curses from not meeting those demands. Thus in our text scripture where the bible talks about the curse of the law, the curse from Genesis 3 which man chose for himself in Adam is included because that is the foundation of the curse of the law. The curse is summed up in these words: POVERTY, SICKNESS AND DEATH!
But now, we who were far from God and without hope and without God in the world were made near by the blood of Christ and are no longer strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God [Col.2:12-19].
This month of the blessing therefore affords us another opportunity to celebrate our heritage of the blessing in Christ Jesus. Thus we shall be looking at why some saints walk in the blessing more than others and what we can do to enjoy a hundred fold of the blessing of Abraham which we have inherited in Christ. God said through His servant the Apostle John in 3John 1:2 that He wishes above all things that we walk in the blessing.
In summation here, I want to throw an open invitation to anyone reading this material that is not sure that they have been redeemed to ensure their redemption today by saying the following prayer out loud to God in faith so that they can benefit from the blessing:
Heavenly father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. I repent of my sin and receive the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Calvary’s cross for my salvation. I believe He died for me and on the third day, you raised Him from the dead for my salvation. From today, I receive Him as the Saviour and Lord of my Life.
Thank you father for forgiving me and writing my name in the book of life with the blood of Jesus. I pledge allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ from this day forever in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen!!!
