WELCOME TO JANUARY 2016: OUR MONTH OF FREEDOM FROM FEAR

Heb.2:14-15 and 2Tim.1:7
Fear is a very familiar word and experience in the physical world in which we live today. It has been a cause of concern to God and man since it first showed up in the Garden of Eden as we discovered in Genesis 3:10. As endemic as it has been in our world, there has not been any humanly possible solution to it.
Let us understand that this challenge is the cause of most of the crisis in our world today. For instance, the fear of poverty has driven many people into becoming workaholics to the detriment of healthy relationships that would have enhanced their lives like a loving and peaceful family. The fear of failure in ministry for instance has driven many ministers to an early grave against the counsel of God to rest and be refreshed.  The fear of loneliness has pushed many into the wrong marriages and in some cases; these experiences have turned out to be very fatal.
However, the greatest of these fears is the fear of death which has actually led many to an untimely death and bondages of various kinds. In fact all the members of occult groups around the world are held bound by their fear of being killed should they divulge the cult secrets or leave the group. In fact, the beginning of man’s secretive nature came with this disease called fear. When God sought to commune with Adam in Genesis 3:8-10, Adam had changed from the former open person he was and had become afraid and secretive. So he hid himself from God because with this new lifestyle, he could no longer stand up to face the Lord. I believe this is one of the saddest experiences man brought to God as it began a negative cycle of rising and falling for man.
I was listening to an audio account of the founder of the most intolerant religion on earth today and learnt that he started that religion so as to create a nation for himself because of the poverty background he had but unfortunately for him because every religion is based on demonic controls, it was taken over from him by devils and today, they are a major problem the world is trying to solve to no avail.
The big question is this; given the forgoing problems caused by fear and more, is there a way out for this seemingly insurmountable problem? The answer is a big YES!!! And that is the good news for humanity. However, only God has been able to provide this solution and He did so in one person and you can immediately guess who even if you do not know Him yet. His name is the Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him, we receive access back to God and consequently freedom from fear. When Adam was in union with God, he knew nothing like fear. When he sinned, he lost that union and became one with Satan (the most fearful being) and became riddled with fear. As long as man stays away from God, his fears would remain but if he takes advantage of this divine solution, and takes responsibility to be all he was born to be, fear will lose its hold on him.
We read in Hebrews 2:14-15 that forasmuch as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, Jesus also took part of the same by coming into this world as man so that he could die for our sins and through death destroy the one who had the power of death: that is the devil and deliver all who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. The result of embracing the Lord Jesus Christ is that we now receive a new spirit; not a spirit of bondage to fear, but a spirit of adoption whereby we can address God as our daddy. See Romans 8:15. Thus we can see here that fear is a spiritual problem that can only be solved spiritually.
Should you desire to solve this problem in your life today, I rejoice with you because the solution has been waiting for you for the past 2,000 years plus. However, you will have to take this solution by taking this first step of receiving the spirit of adoption by making Jesus Christ your Saviour and Lord. This month, we shall be looking at God’s wisdom from his word for actualizing our freedom from fear. Then you can receive more light on how to be courageous in the midst of fear and even move on to the point of fearlessness. Should you desire to take advantage of this great redemption, please say the following prayer out loud and you would begin the journey of your freedom from fear by being born again:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name!

WELCOME TO THE YEAR 2016 OUR YEAR OF DIVINE EXEMPTION FROM ALL EVIL

Exodus 8:22 and 9:26, Gen.47:27, Isa.60:2-3 and Eph.2:1, 6.
As the days role into weeks and weeks into months and months into years, one cannot deny the fact that there has been a multiplication of wickedness around the world as never before. In the year 2015, we saw more than ever the open demonstration of wickedness like the public beheading of innocent people in some parts of the world in the name of religion. We also saw the further corruption of our world by a manifestation of ungodly decrees made in the world and admitted by men of reprobate minds as the way things ought to be. However, the good news is that where evil abounded, grace much more abounds. See Romans 5:20. Thus in the midst of all the lawlessness, there is revival in some parts of the world like in west Africa and some parts of the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Russia and Asia.  Let us also not forget that even though we are in the world, we are not of this world; we have been positioned by God far above all the evils in it and therefore exempt from them.
The year 2015 also saw the mass salvation of many Jews embracing the Lord who died for them as their messiah. For the natural man, things would not get better because we have entered into the time prophesied by the ancient prophets as the time when darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness shall cover the people of the world.  However, the Lord shall arise upon us and His glory shall be seen on us and this will cause those in darkness to gravitate towards us for answers and the result would be a huge harvest of souls into the kingdom of God.
As the world sees how God excludes us from every evil that befalls them like natural disasters, sickness, disease, poverty, lack and want, we would indeed become signs and wonders to them as God intends. [Isa.8:18]. When they see the way our lives are distinguished supernaturally because of divine guidance and a demonstration of the supernatural in our lives by the grace of God whereas the world is losing its grip on solutions more and more, they would be drawn to us to seek answers.
This year is going to be for us like it was for Israel when they were in the Land of Goshen. Whereas the Egyptians were selling their property to buy food, Israel was buying property. Whereas the Egyptians were plagued by the different judgements of God, Israel was divinely exempted from the plague.
Kingdom Heirs Ministries International and every ark of God in this season would be divinely excluded from the evil to come in 2016 as God has positioned us on earth at a time like this to provide solution of eternal relevance to mankind and help as many as would receive it, enter into the ark of safety which is the Lord Jesus Christ.
To this end, this year, we shall believe God for grace to see more people saved and established in faith. We shall embark on more aggressive soul winning and establishing efforts while helping other ministers and ministries prepare to harvest more people into the faith and nurture them in the faith until they can begin the cycle again.
Our business as a ministry this year would be to mobilize for this next great move of God that has already begun in some parts of the world and see that we take responsibility to see the manifestation of God’s glory in our lives that would guarantee his exempting us from all evil.
By the grace of God, our learnings this year will help us develop spiritually as it would take spirituality to actualize God’s plan for us this year and every time to come.
Rejoice brethren because God is set to release his greater grace upon us to really manifest as signs and wonders in this world to the intent that more and more people would be drawn to Him and be used of Him to bless others.
Once again, I welcome you to the year 2016, our year of divine exemption from all evils! Congratulations!!!
Someone may be reading this today that is not sure of this exemption in his or her personal life. I have good news for you; you can make sure right away by saying this prayer out loud from your heart and you will become born into the family of God and become exempt from all evil.

Understanding the use of the blood for our deliverance/victory. Part 2

MESSAGES FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER, 2015
Theme: The overcoming power of the blood of the Lamb and our testimonies
Message for Sunday 13th Dec. 2015
Topic: Understanding the use of the blood for our deliverance/victory. Part 2
Introduction: Last week, we saw the origin of the use of the blood. Today, we shall continue along that line but with more emphasis on the purpose of the blood for our dispensation. In looking at the origin of the blood last week, we saw that in the Old Testament, the blood of animals was used to raise altars to God and to get victory based on the covenants the ancients cut with God and sealed with the blood of the covenant. In the New Testament however, the Lord instituted the Holy Communion after making His disciples understand that his flesh [the bread] was His life which He was giving for the world and the wine was his blood of the New Covenant which was to be shed for the remission of our sin. [Matthew 26:26-29; Jn.6:51; 1Cor.11:23-25 & Heb.9:12-15].
With this understanding, let us see some of the ways the blood helps us to work out our victory in the conflicts of life:
1.     The blood grants us access to God and enables us to reconnect to our maker so that we can be plugged back to Him: in the Old Testament, the blood of animals was used to cover man’s sin to enable Him access the favour of God and therefore receive God’s help to overcome his enemies. This is why Abel and his sacrifice were accepted because he gave blood on the altar but Cain and his sacrifice were rejected because there was no blood on the altar.
In the New Testament however, we have a better covenant. The blood of Christ does not just cover our sin; it removes it and makes us righteous as though we never sinned. It reconciles us back to God so that we are reconnected or plugged back to him like Adam was a part of him before the fall. Better than that, we are new creations with better rights and privileges than Adam had. See 2Cor.5:17-21; Heb.8:1-13 and Col.1:14. What separated man from God was sin. When sin is taken care of, man is reconnected back to God. As one with God, man can exercise all the powers of God and therefore win in all the conflicts of life.  That power rules over heaven and earth. See Matthew 28:18-20 and Rev.5:9-10.
2.     Deliverance is impossible without the blood: Israel was in bondage for four hundred years and when God tried to deliver them, all the plagues he sent against Pharaoh were resisted until blood sacrifice was offered to God and the bible says they were actually thrust out of Egypt because the blood brought judgment on pharaoh and all the gods of Egypt resulting in the death of their first and best. When Israel left, they left with substance. In the New Testament, the blood of Christ redeems us and causes us to be delivered from the domain of darkness and translated into the kingdom of Christ [Col.1:12-14; 1John 1:7 and Heb.12:24]. As the blood is administered by sprinkling today, I see judgment coming on your enemies and all your long standing challenges giving up on you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. What is meant for you that has been withheld until now, will be gathered to you in the name of Jesus! See Ex.11:1; 12:20-24 and 2Cor.5:7.
3.     Victory is made possible through the blood: Victory connotes that a battle must be fought and won. The victorious party is known at the conclusion of the conflict in battle by the outcome. No one can truly be victorious on their own; we all need God to help us and fight for us. To access the help of God, we must do first things first; we must go by way of the blood. See Heb.4:16; 10:15-22 and Rev.12:11.
4.     Eternal Life is only accessible by the blood of Christ: You cannot truly experience a relationship with God without first receiving the blood sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. Eternal life is superior to the natural life and will always triumph over the devil while natural life is under the influence of the devil and is flesh ruled and an enemy of God. The natural life makes it impossible for the Holy Spirit to teach a person the ways of God. Therefore the person would be cut off from the wisdom of God and therefore live below God’s intended dignity for him or her. See John 6:51-58; 17:1-3; 1Cor.2:13-14; Rom.8:5-8 and Gal.5:16-18.
5.     Revelation knowledge is accessible by the blood: until the Lamb that was slain appeared, there was much weeping by John because the book remained sealed. When a book is sealed, even when you read it, you cannot understand its contents. In the same way, understanding is only accessible by revelation knowledge and therefore impossible without the blood. When light or understanding is hidden from a people, their weeping continues because they are confused, harassed and helpless. This is the description Jesus gave to sheep without a shepherd. This is why as a shepherd; I hunt for understanding every day and my heart yens to know as much of God as I could receive. In fact, the revelation of the word of God terminates the tears of men. See Rev.5:1-5; Hosea 4:6; Ps.119:144; Mark 4:11 and Rev.22:15.
More can be said on the blood but for want of space and time, we shall draw the curtains here today. Next week, we shall see how a combination of the blood and the word of our testimony make victory happen so that at the end, all of the blessings intended for us for this year that are still hanging will be harvested and gathered in with the help of the Lord.
Like we have seen today, access to eternal life and our triumph in the conflicts of life is impossible without the blood because the blood first cleanses us from the sin nature we inherited from our forefather Adam that made us become unacceptable to God like Cain. However, since the coming of Christ; all that can be changed by saying this simple prayer if you have not yet done so:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name!
Amen.

Understanding the use of the blood for our deliverance/victory. Part 1

Theme: The overcoming power of the blood of the Lamb and our testimonies
Message for Sunday 6th Dec. 2015
Topic: Understanding the use of the blood for our deliverance/victory. Part 1
Introduction: The farlex English dictionary defines blood as the principal vascular system of animals carrying nourishment to all parts of the body and bringing away waste products to be excreted. The importance of blood in man and animal cannot be overstated as the bible declares that the life of the flesh is in the blood. In Leviticus 17:11, we read:
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”
Our general prosperity is tied to the prosperity of our souls. No other area of our lives has a right to prosper if our souls are not prospered because we can only be made whole; nothing missing and nothing broken to the extent our souls are prospered. See 3John 1:2. This month, we shall begin to see how the blood works in conjunction with the word of our testimonies to bring us victory over our adversary. Today, we shall be looking at the origin of the use of the blood for our deliverance and victory and why blood is required.
Origin of the use of blood
1.     God was the first to use blood and he used it for Adam and Eve when they sinned against him and had to be driven out of the place he prepared for them known as Eden. In Gen.3:21, we are told that God made coats of skin and covered them, but we are not told why. This was the first account where blood was shed and it was to cover man. In subsequent paragraphs, we shall see why.
2.     The next record of the use of blood was given in Gen.4:3-7 where we are told that Abel offered a sacrifice to God that was animal based but that Cain whose idea it was to offer sacrifices to God offered sacrifice that was plant based to God. God accepted Abel’s sacrifice and rejected Cain’s sacrifice. There has been several explanations for the reason God rejected Cain’s sacrifice and accepted Abel’s. Let us see what God had to say about it even here:
“And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.”
In verse 5-6, we are told in the message translation of the bible that: “Abel also brought an offering, but from the first born animal of his herd, choice cuts of meat. God liked Abel and his offering, but Cain and his offering didn’t get his approval.”
Putting these two translations together, it is clear that Abel got God’s approval because he lived and did right and this reflected in the way he honored God with his first and best. This is why many have seen this scripture as the source of tithing. I would not disagree with it because of the fact that tithing was also later referred to as the first fruits. God told the children of Israel to bring the first ten percent of their harvest to Him as the tithe.
Again, Abel’s sacrifice won God’s approval because his sacrifice brought the shield of blood that was required for atonement as we pointed out in the introduction above. See Leviticus 17:11 and Hebrews 9:22 from where we are made to understand that blood is used for atonement and therefore, without the shedding of blood, there can be no remission of sin. Thus Abel did the right thing by seeking atonement by way of his blood sacrifice and therefore, God accepted him first and then his sacrifice. Cain on the other hand, did not secure God’s acceptance because his sin was still standing between him and God as there was no blood on his altar to atone for his sin. God would not accept your tithe or sacrifices if you have not come under that blood first. This is why we must take heed to this mystery to enable us get the full benefit of our sacrifices.
3.     The Patriarchs like Abel, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob etc, all offered blood on their altars to God to access His presence and voice to enable them cultivate any relationship with God.
4.     Under the Law, God told Moses in Lev.17:11 which we quoted above in our introduction that He has given us the blood upon the altar to atone for our souls. God however specified that the blood to be used for the Passover for instance must be that of a spotless lamb which typifies the atonement the Lord was to make for our souls before he came about 2,000 years ago.
5.     In the New Testament, Jesus confirms these truths in John 10:15-18 thus:
As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father”.
He used the sheep as a type for those of us who believe in Him and said he was going to lay down His life for us. The reason is that when he lays down His life, His blood was going to be shed and that is what He was going to present to God in the altar of heaven to atone for the sin of Adam and his lineage – the entire human race. All who believe in him therefore would have automatic access to God’s mercy and just like Abel, would be accepted by God. On the other hand, all who do not believe in him would be rejected together with their works. This is the difference between religion and eternal life. Religious observances are seen by God as dead works while faith in Christ Jesus is seen by God as service to the living God. See Paul’s teaching in Hebrews 8:1-13; 9:11-26.

The result of the blood of Atonement:
From the foregoing, it is clear that with the offering of the blood of Jesus Christ to God, our sin is atoned for and when we receive this truth and embrace its demands, we are saved/delivered and translated from the kingdom of darkness where sin brought Adam to the kingdom of Jesus Christ. See Col.1:12-14 and Gal.3:13-14.
We shall say more on this next week. Meanwhile, anyone who is reading this that has not made a decision for Christ for any reason, now has a reason to do so. If you wish to take this challenge, please say the following prayer out loud and begin this faith journey that you will always be grateful to God for:

See Deu.26:1-12.
Again, Abel’s sacrifice won God’s approval because his sacrifice brought the shield of blood that was required for atonement as we pointed out in the introduction above. WELCOME TO DECEMBER 2015: OUR MONTH OF THE INGATHERING

WELCOME TO DECEMBER 2015: OUR MONTH OF THE INGATHERING
Ex.23:14, 16; 34:22
Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.”
“And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.”
As we come to the last month of our year of Divine Establishments, there is no better time to call to mind the many good things the Lord has done for us to prove His faithfulness to His word for the year. At the end of last year, He assured us that this shall be to us our year of divine establishments. Even a blind person would observe that God has kept His word to us this year.
He has graciously declared this month to be our month of ingathering. From our text scripture above, ingathering is a feast of the Lord the Children of Israel were commanded to keep in commemoration of the Lord’s faithfulness in causing them to gather the fruits of their labour at every year’s end. So far, this year, the Lord has helped us to embark a series of in reach programs to the body of Christ to help us become more established in faith. He led us to refresh ourselves with the foundational truths of the gospel and to start going out of our own fellowship to reach out to other members of the body of Christ with these truths. So far, our mission outreaches has touched the lives of ministers in the Benin Republic totaling about one hundred ministers representing ministries from 20 communities in attendance at three outreaches held in May and October respectively.
We also recorded various testimonies from these outreaches ranging from healings to people finding their respective places in destiny. We embarked on series of outreaches in Ghana, the United States and Nigeria that saw the birth of a new fellowship Center for The Well-being Center in Badagry in Lagos State Nigeria. We also saw the hand of God at work as he enabled us to start another branch of Kingdom Joint Heirs Family Churches in Suhum in the greater Accra Region of Ghana. Earlier in the year, precisely in March, Kingdom Heirs Ministries Int’l was incorporated in the United States and presently, we are publishing the gospel through books and the internet here.
Also, the Lord has enabled us to purchase real estate debt free in Nigeria and Ghana respectively to protect us from the burden of paying rents when we do not have to. Time and space would fail me to itemize all the Lord has done that we are aware of. I believe that He has done more behind the scenes than what we could ever be conscious of in time. This year alone, we have embarked on several journeys to different countries both far and near and the Lord had protected us through them all.
We have chosen to number all what we can see the Lord doing and give Him the glory. In this month of ingathering therefore, our focus shall be on recalling all the testimonies arising from the word of the Lord to us and giving Him the glory for them all. To this end, we are calling for testimonies from every one of you who has been blessed by the word of the Lord through this Ministry this year so that we can celebrate God’s goodness with you. The more we testify, the more we would experience triumph.
This month therefore, we shall be looking at a series I title: “The overcoming power of the blood of the Lamb and our testimonies.” This theme is drawn from Revelation 12:11 where we are made to understand that we overcame the devil by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimonies.
As this year comes to an end, you shall witness the dawn of a greater manifestation of the presence and power of God in your life in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you desire to know the Lord in this intimate way, it starts with becoming a part of His family. You can do so right away by saying the following prayer out loud and you will become born again:

Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name!
Amen.

Cultivating a Relationship with the Holy Spirit Part 4

Messages for November 2015: Our Month of the Holy Spirit
 John 14:18, 26; John 16:13; 1Cor.12:7
Message for Sunday 29th November, 2015
Theme: Understanding the Gift and Ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Topic: Cultivating a Relationship with the Holy Spirit Part 4 [Testing the voice you hear]
Introduction: From the beginning of this month, we began to look at this great subject on the Holy Spirit that would help us acquaint ourselves with the Lord. In Job 22:21-23, we read:
Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.”
We therefore established that for us to really know God, we must be able to hear His voice because the first step to becoming acquainted with anyone is communication. We also saw that you cannot truly communicate with someone you are not on the same page with. In other words, you must understand their language and ways. We also saw that when God wanted to erode the unity of men who were united against His purpose, He had to confuse their tongues so that they could no more operate on the same page. In the same way to be in agreement with God, we must understand His language and ways. This is why we have been looking at how to hear the voice of God.
Today, we shall be looking at how we can ascertain that the voice we hear is actually the voice of God.  I have here listed six things we can look out for to enable us test the voice we hear to ensure that it is God’s voice.
1.     The voice of God carries peace with it. When we lose our peace over a voice we hear, we should pause because evil spirits are always in a hurry. If you wait long enough, you would discover that it was not God who spoke as the cover would be taken off by your patience. Remember, in Galatians 5:6, we are told that faith works by love and patience is the first manifestation of love. This is on the understanding that God’s voice is the basis of true faith as shown in Romans 10:17. See Phil. 4:6-7, Ps.85:8.
2.     The voice of God agrees with the Bible. All scripture is authored by the Holy Spirit and therefore the bible is the basis for testing any voice that claims to be the voice of God. Whatever you hear from God will never conflict with the principles of scriptures because the bible is the word of God that has been tried seven times and has come out flawless. See Ps.12:6; Isa.8:20; Jer.23:25-29; 2Tim.3:16 and 2Pet.1:19.
3.     The voice of the Lord does not encourage hastiness. Any voice you hear from God that promotes hastiness should be checked against what we have discussed in paragraph 1 above. See Isa.28:16 and Heb.6:12.
4.     The voice of the Lord does not release fear but faith in your heart. Every time God speaks, His voice shoots arrows of faith into your heart such that you are empowered to take faith actions that bear the fruits that can only be described as the hand of God at work. See Rm.10:17; 1Jn.4:18.
5.     The voice of the Lord releases joy in your heart. Every time God speaks to us, his voice settles us in such a way that our hearts become filled with joy because in His presence is fullness of joy. Jesus said things to His disciples that enabled their hearts to receive and be filled with joy. See Ps.16:11 and John 15:11.
6.     Whatever God says eventually comes to pass as He says it will. God always confirms what He says through others who are more experienced in the ways of God. This is why we are told in Isaiah 30:20-21 that God gives us teachers who we can see and through them, the Holy Spirit confirms the leadings of God for our lives. See Deut.8:21-22; Isa.44:26, Luke 21:33 and Matthew 24:30, 35. Note however that this is without prejudice to conditional promises which requires that we meet certain conditions before the word can be actualized. Once the demands are met, the fulfilment of God’s word in this case is absolutely certain. A good example is His promise to Israel in Deuteronomy 28.
In summation therefore, putting all we have done so far in this month together, we can say that God not only speaks but He wants to speak to us and it is His pleasure to do so. He also wants us to hear and know for certain that He is the one speaking to us.
However, this blessing is meant for those who have entered into the covenant relationship of the New Birth with the Lord. The bible says that Christ in you is the hope of glory and this mystery was hidden from the foundation of the world for our glory. They are not hidden from us but for us to be able to discover them. If you desire this new birth experience so as to take advantage of what God has given us, you can do so right away by saying the following prayer out loud in faith and you will be saved and granted access to the mysteries of God that would enable you manifest His glory on earth. When Jesus was about to round off His mission on earth, he said he had brought glory to God by fulfilling His purpose. See John 17:4. If you want to be able to say the same thing when the time comes, please say the following prayer out loud and God would honor your faith:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Cultivating a Relationship with the Holy Spirit Part 3 [hearing His voice]

Messages for November 2015: Our Month of the Holy Spirit
 John 14:18, 26; John 16:13; 1Cor.12:7
Message for Sunday 22nd November, 2015
Theme: Understanding the Gift and Ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Topic: Cultivating a Relationship with the Holy Spirit Part 3 [hearing His voice]
Introduction: Last week, we established that God speaks and why. We also began to look at the different ways God chooses to communicate His mind to us. Today, we shall continue looking at how God speaks and begin to look at how to hear the voice of God spoken directly to us by the inward witness which is the main way God wants to speak to all His children apart from the bible:
A sixth way God speaks to us is through the written word or the bible. It is a compilation of prophecies spoken by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit to reveal the heart of God to man and the stories of men and women who walked with God and people of their time. See 1John 5:7-8, 2Peter 1:19-21 and 2Tim.3:16.  This is why Isaiah, referring to those who consult familiar spirits; said in Isa.8:20 that if people do not refer you back to the law and testimony [the confirmed word of God] that it is because there is no light in them. Spiritual light can only be generated when the written word of God is mingled with faith otherwise, God is not obligated to confirm what a purported preacher preaches.
I consider the Bible the Creator’s manual for mankind and his environment. All that can be known of God and man are packaged in the bible made up of the Old and New Testament. Thus the only way we can actually live meaningful lives is by living by the word of God.
A seventh way God speaks to people is through circumstances. A good example of the circumstantial leading of God is seen in the entire book of Esther in the bible where the name of God was not mentioned once yet His acts from behind the scenes were evident. In our lives, God can bring this about by shutting every door except the one He wants to open for us. I have had this experience several times in my missionary journey and at the end of the day, it always turns out that God was actually working behind the scenes and usually, the hand of God becomes visible in the testimonies that accompany the outcome of being led circumstantially. See the story of the four lepers at the gate of Samaria in 2kings 7:3-8.
An eighth way God leads us is through the teaching and preaching of the word of God. This method is usually taken lightly by many, but I have found it to be one of the best ways to confirm a leading you get privately from the Lord. See Isa.30:20-21, Mt.4:23, Mk.9:35, Acts 15:35; Acts 28:30-31 and Hebrews 10:25.
A ninth way God leads is through prophecies: Prophecies are messages from God through mostly human vessels intended to bring edification, exhortation and comfort to us. They do not invoke fear; even when they foretell of terrible events that may come, they also tell the solution that could avert the crises immediately. See 1Cor.14:3, Acts 11:27-30. In our example here, through prophecy, the Church received prudence, they saw the evil ahead and took care of it. See Prov.22:3; 27:12. This is comforting.
A tenth way God Leads is through angels: we see this so many times in the bible like in Gen.18 when God sent angels to assure Abraham of the coming of Isaac and when God revealed His impending judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah and gave Abraham the opportunity to intercede for them. Also, an angel was sent to reveal the virgin conception and birth of the Messiah in Matthew 1 and Luke 1 and 2. Also, angels were assigned to help Paul in his missionary journeys like in Acts 27 when they were affected by a shipwreck that would have cost all of them their lives.
How to hear the voice of God using Habakkuk’s example
In Habakkuk 2:1-3, we read:
I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
From this text of scripture, we can identify four steps we can take to start hearing the voice of God and build on it to consciously be led by the Holy Spirit through the inward witness or inward perception. They are as follows:
1.     Stillness of quietness before God: In the first verse, we are told to be still before God. This entails that we shut out every other voice consciously. This is not a time to remember the many other things we want to do. We must shut out the world, television, radio, internet, phones etc and get quiet in a quiet place before God. This is what Jesus sought to do daily on his earthly sojourn. See Mark 1:35. Indeed, to make a practice of waking up early and seeking God this way is the best. This was Abraham’s style too. In Gen.19:27, we see an account of Abraham rising up early as is the habit with him to the place where he usually stood before the Lord. We must make a habit of making out time daily with the Lord. I do this in my bedroom every morning taking the posture most comfortable for me. When this is in place, then we are ready for the next stage where we begin to see what God is saying.
2.     Vision: When God speaks, His voice activates our imagination so that we begin to see what He says with our minds. This is why Habakkuk says he has to see what the Lord would say to him. In other words, what God is going to say to us would be first caught in vision before our inner ears can pick it. The power of our imagination cannot be overstated. In Gen.11:6, God said nothing will be withheld from a people working together as a team with one imagination. This is why God involves our imagination when He speaks to us to enable us have faith. It is one of the complex means of getting our faith to work because our utterances are empowered by a unity of our speech and imagination. When our imagination becomes one with God’s own, we are said to have vision. This is why it is very necessary for us to be filled with the word of God so that our minds can be renewed enough to be able to comprehend what the Spirit is saying to us. See 1Cor.6:17, Rom.12:1-2 and Col.3:16.
3.     Spontaneity: When God begins to speak to our hearts, it comes through a spontaneous flow of thoughts which can only be controlled by the Holy Spirit. Even though we can stop the flow by our distraction, we cannot turn it on at will. However, God has promised us that when we seek Him with all our hearts, we shall find Him. See Jer.29:13; 33:3, Matthew 7:7-8. The first answer to prayer I look forward to is what God has to say to me in answer to my prayer. Once God says anything to you, you can lay your life on it as it would surely come to pass even if not immediately. See Hab.2:3
4.     Journaling: Finally, to maintain the flow of thought, we should immediately begin to write whatever we hear down in our diaries. This way, we would be able to capture most; if not all of what we hear. Then later, we can go over them along with our bibles to enable us ascertain it was the voice of God. The scripture we are looking at in Hab.2:3 says to write the vision down and make it plain on tables that we may run with it when we read it. This is very important to God. In Jeremiah 36, when He sent the prophet to his people and they burnt the scroll in which His words were journaled, God instructed the prophet to write it out again. What is documented cannot be forgotten easily and even if it is forgotten, we can refer to the documents again. See Apostle Paul’s example in 2Tim.4:13. I have kept journals since 1990 and many of what the Lord had told me then have come to pass.
I will stop here today. Next week by God’s grace, we shall be looking at how to know that what we heard is actually God’s voice and not another.

Cultivating a Relationship with the Holy Spirit Part 2 [hearing His voice]

Messages for November 2015: Our Month of the Holy Spirit
 John 14:18, 26; John 16:13; 1Cor.12:7
Message for Sunday 15th November, 2015
Theme: Understanding the Gift and Ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Topic: Cultivating a Relationship with the Holy Spirit Part 2 [hearing His voice]
Introduction: Last week we established that God already knows us through and through but because of sin, we lost living contact with God and that Jesus Christ came to restore that living contact with us through His sacrifice on the Cross which enabled the Holy Spirit to come and live in us. We also saw that for us to enjoy His ministry to us, we must cultivate a relationship with Him. The reason being that all we can know of God is purely by His revelation to us and this revelation is only accessible to the believer. We saw three demands placed on us to enable us cultivate this great relationship. The first was new birth, the second was communicating with God His way and relating with Him on the platform of His word – The Bible. When this is in place, we become spiritual enough to start hearing Him and being led by His Spirit because God is a Spirit and can only relate with our spirits as spirits talk to spirits. See John 4:23-24 and 1Cor.2:14.
Hearing the voice of God: To hear the voice of God, we must first understand the following:
1.     The answer to the question whether God speaks is positive and this is what distinguishes him from idols which others call god [see Ps.94:9] because He is the prototype of the man He made. He has eyes and sees and ears and hears. Whereas some idols are masterminded by evil spirits to speak, it is evident that they cannot legally speak to man and any man who goes to them for help is seeking help where there is no help. David compares them aptly with helpless beings who have eyes but cannot see; ears but cannot hear and hands and feet but cannot handle or move on their own and concludes that all who make them would be like them. See Psalm 115:5; 135:16. The help the evil spirits offer through them serve to steal from you, kill and then destroy you [John 10:10]. This is why it is so vital to cultivate the divine skills of hearing God directly so as to avoid going to idols as we used to do when we did not know Him. Apostle Paul makes us understand in 1Cor.12:1-2 that this is why we need to learn about the gift of the Holy Spirit.
2.     Secondly, the answer to the question whether God wants to speak to us is also positive because this is why He made us in the first place. He wanted to have children like Him who would communicate with Him on the same level. See Gen.1:26. It is also interesting to note that God speaks to all of His creation for example, He authorized Jeremiah to speak to the earth in Jer.22:29 and Ezekiel to speak to hopeless dried up skeletal bones of men and cause them to come back to life. We can go on and on but let us just understand that God speaks to all and expects us to do likewise because it is the means by which He demonstrates His creativity and we have His DNA to do likewise. See Ps.33:6, 9. Gen.1:1-3, John 1:1-3.
How God speaks and Guides
From the word of God, we understand that God speaks by the following means among others:
1.     Through the audible voice: see 1Sam.3:1-10 and Acts 9:1-7
2.     The inward witness or inner perception [we shall be looking at this in greater details in future by God’s grace]: Rom.8:14, 16; Acts 16:6-7; 27:10-11, 14-20.
3.     Through dreams and visions of the night: Dan.2:19; Job 33:14-16; Matthew 1: 18-21 and Acts 16:9-10.
4.     Through trance: This is the temporary suspension of our senses to enable us become more aware of the events taking place in the spirit realm which God wants to show us. See the example of Cornelius and Peter in Acts 10:1-20 and the example of Balaam in Numbers 24:4, 16.
5.     Through Spiritual and open visions: Spiritual visions happen as a flash of pictures in our minds which we cannot shake off easily. I believe this was how Joseph was able to interpret Pharaoh’s dream on the spot in Gen.41:14-38. Another example is Elisha getting to know of Gehazi’s treachery in 2Kings 5:20-27. The open vision however happens when we see events as though they are playing out right in front of us like a television screen. See the example of Jesus and Nathaniel in John 1:48 and the visions of John in the entire book of Revelation.
We shall stop here today. Next week we will continue looking at the different ways God speaks and subsequently, we will focus on how to hear God through the inward perception as it is the most important way God wants to speak to us all through our lives and when confirmed by the bible principles and the Spirit, it is the most authentic means by which we can be led by the Holy Spirit because only the Spirit of God resides in the spirit of the new creation.
However, this blessing is meant for those who have entered into the covenant relationship of the New Birth with the Lord. The bible says that Christ in you is the hope of glory and this mystery was hidden from the foundation of the world for our glory. They are not hidden from us but for us to be able to discover them.
