Theme: Understanding the Glory of God

Two sides to the Glory of God Pt.1
Introduction: Last week we concluded what the Glory of God is and also saw how we can benefit from it. Today, we shall look at the reality that the glory of God has two sides to it. This was clearly brought out to us by the Lord in the gospels where He said in Mark 10:29-30:
“And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”
In enjoying the glory of God, we are rewarded with persecutions as well as all the good things of life like wealth, good relationships, health etc. Through all these, let us understand that God is good and would not withhold any good thing from us even though we may not fully understand the persecution bit but we know that God is good. [See Ps.84:11] Today, we shall be looking at the easier side of the glory.
When we cultivate a relationship with God to the point that His presence becomes a part of our daily lives, we enjoy uncountable benefits. Let us see some of these benefits:
1.     Divine provision: when we walk with God and please Him to the point His glory manifests in our lives, we would never lack any good thing. In Ps.84:11, we are told that He would not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly. For example, when Jesus walked on Earth as a man, He never lacked any good thing because he did only those things which pleased the father. See John 10:17-18. Concerning the early Church who walked in the glory of God, it was said that none of them lacked anything [Acts 4:32-35]. Also, when the glory of God led Israel from Egypt for forty years, God supernaturally supplied them food in the glory. [Deu.8:2-4].
2.     Divine favour: Another thing we benefit in the glory as we walk with God is divine favour. Only the glory of God can create room in the heart of another person for you without any strings attached because man is naturally selfish. In other words, when others look out for your best interest, it is the favour of God at work and this happens freely in the glory. See Ex.3:21; 12:36, Acts 2:46-47.
3.     Divine relationships: In the glory, you can easily cultivate godly relationships with likeminded people who could even become more of parents, children and siblings to you than your biological family. By the blood of Christ, we all become blood brothers and sisters and when we learn to walk in the glory and appreciate those covenant relationships, there are no ends to the benefits we stand to enjoy from them. See the relationship between Paul and Timothy in 1Timothy 1:2 - through this relationship, Paul was able to pass on his legacy to the next generation and posterity in such a way that he may not have been able to through a biological son. Also, Joshua became a son to Moses more than his biological sons were so much so that he was more recognized by posterity than his biological children. See Deu.34:9. Another example is that of Elijah and Elisha and the Lord and the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
4.     Divine protection: In the glory, we are supernaturally protected from sickness, fears, untimely death etc. For example, there is no sickness in heaven. When the glory comes down, everywhere the glory is tabernacled is affected in such a way that it is like living in heaven. So what cannot happen to you if you were physically in heaven cannot happen to you in the glory. This is why Israel was able to cross the red sea on dry land while the Egyptians on the other hand, got drowned in the same red sea. What drowns others would not drown you. Sickness cannot dwell in the glory so people receive supernatural healing once the glory comes on them. See the example of the woman with the issue of blood who contacted the glory through touching the hem of the Lord’s garment in Mark 5. In Acts 19 also, those sick and demonized people who touched the glory through Apostle Paul were set free.
5.     Wealth: In the glory, there is great wealth packaged in wisdom and understanding. This is because God is present in glory and He gives wisdom in the glory out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding [Prov.2:6]. In Proverbs 8:18 we are made to understand that durable riches can only be acquired through wisdom. Also, see the example of Solomon in 1Kings 3:11-13.
6.     Divine multiplication: another thing that happens in the glory is fruitfulness and this leads to multiplication. This is the principle that Jesus operated to multiply five loaves and two pieces of fish to feed over five thousand attendees at His crusade. See John 6:1-12 & Luke 9:12-17.
However, this blessing is meant for those who have entered into the covenant relationship of the New Birth with the Lord. The bible says that Christ in you is the hope of glory and this mystery was hidden from the foundation of the world for our glory. They are not hidden from us but for us to be able to discover them. If you desire this new birth experience so as to take advantage of what God has given us, you can do so right away by saying the following prayer out loud in faith and you will be saved and granted access to the mysteries of God that would enable you manifest His glory on earth. When Jesus was about to round off His mission on earth, he said he had brought glory to God by fulfilling His purpose. See John 17:4. If you want to be able to say the same thing when the time comes, please say the following prayer out loud and God would honor your faith:
Heavenly Father,
Have mercy on me a sinner. Today, I believe that Jesus died for me and you raised Him from the dead for my Justification. I therefore declare that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and Lord and from today, I renounce the fatherhood of Satan and embrace Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord. Thank you for this father in Jesus’ name!
Amen.
